Spidermable takes Edmonton and the internet by storm

This story is making its way into our hearts and to the top of the ‘Best of 2015′.

Spidermable was trending worldwide today as the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada hosted it’s most elaborate wish to date. Turning six year old leukemia patient Mable Tooke into Spiderman for the day and getting all of Edmonton in on the fun.

In the same vein as Batkid, the little boy from San Francisco that stole our hearts a couple of years ago, Mable was transformed into a superhero for a day and went on an adventure. Her task – save the Edmonton Oilers’ captain Andrew Ference, who had been kidnapped.

Her big day had her meeting with Councillors, the Mayor, journalists and fans; zip-lining through West Edmonton Mall; hanging out with some elephants and finally saving the Oilers’ captain.

Throughout the day there were many photographs, videos and tweets made about Spidermable’s adventure through Edmonton, but this one takes the cake. I’m actually surprised that it wasn’t featured everywhere. I mean, COME ON – that’s perfect.
