Booby Ball 2016: Get Ready for Paradise City

It’s almost time to get dressed up! And I’m not talking about Hallowe’en. Nope, I’m talking about the most dazzling fundraising event of the year – Booby Ball, Rethink Breast Cancer’s annual event that takes place in Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary (Oct 27) and Ottawa (Oct 28).

This year’s theme is Paradise City – Welcome to the Jungle. And while you may think that the attire is Axl Rose and friends – it’s really jungle. In fact, the Calgary version of this event will be held at the Enmax Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo. BEST.

Every year the Booby Ball team comes up with a theme that is ah-maze and people come dressed in costume success. For the last five years Heninger Photography has been documenting the get-ups on his Facebook page. Here are some of my favourites from the past five years. Who will beat them this year?

I have no idea what the theme was this year – but pink was in. (2011)

Camp Booby 2012. I would have been Shelley Long in Troop Beverly Hills, but this works too.

Booby U 2013. Nerds and Jocks was the trend at this event…with most people nerding out!

Booby Circus 2014. Clowns, ring leaders, bearded women…they were all there.

Planet Booby 2015. These ladies were the best. Full Toy Story alien. Loved it.
